Where were you when the national apology was given? Merryn Edwards was in Canberra. She represented Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative. Merryn will share her experience of ‘being there’ to hear the Sorry Speech in Canberra at the Queenscliffe Reconciliation BBQ.
There will be a screening of the film ‘Liyarn Ngarn ’(Coming Together of Spirit). It epitomises a 30 year mission of Indigenous leader Patrick Dodson to bring about a lasting and true reconciliation between the original owners and the immigrants of the West Kimberleys.

Queenscliff Reconciliation Walk

Meet at the rotunda in Citizens Park, Gellibrand Street, Queenscliff at 10.45 am to begin the walk, led by the Mayor, Cr Pat Semmens, down Hesse Street at 11.00 am. The walk will finish at Field Park for speeches and writing of messages.
The Reconciliation Walk gives everyone in the community the chance to show their support for reconciliation either by walking in our main street, supporting from the footpath or listening to speeches following the walk.
