Friday 4 May:

Temporary closure of Queenscliff Boat Ramp

Council will be replacing the concrete headstand at the top of the boat ramp in J L Jordan Reserve, Queenscliff, from Monday 14 to Friday 18 May 2012, weather permitting.

The boat ramp will be closed during this time however is planned to be operational again from Saturday 19 May.

The closest alternative boat ramps are:

  • Swan Bay Boat Ramp, Swan Bay Road
  • St Leonards Boat Ramp, Bluff Road, St Leonards
  • Ocean Grove Boat Ramp, Guthridge Street, Ocean Grove

Friday 20 April:

Expressions of Interest for Project Control Group, Proposed Botanic Gardens

Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from the community to become members of a Project Control Group (PCG) for the proposed Botanic Gardens project.

The PCG will assist Council in developing designs for the proposed Botanic Gardens (at the former Queenscliff High School site) including botanic gardens, community vegetable garden, indigenous garden, community building and other associated infrastructure. The PCG will also assist in assessing governance models for the ongoing management of the gardens.

2012-2013 Draft Budget

Notice is hereby given that, at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on Wednesday 21 March 2012, the Council of the Borough of Queenscliffe prepared a Budget for the year commencing 1 July 2012.

The Budget outlines:-

  1. That as at 30 June 2012, the total amount borrowed by Council is $1,235,390.
  2. Of the amount borrowed by Council $226,000 will be redeemed during the 2012/2013 financial year.
  3. No new borrowings by Council are budgeted to occur during the 2012/13 financial year.
  4. As at 30 June 2013, the total amount of Council borrowings is projected to be $1,009,390.
  5. The cost of servicing the borrowings for the 2012/2013 financial year shall be $90,000.
  6. A proposal that the following rates be declared for the twelve month rating period, commencing 1 July 2012 and concluding on 30 June 2013, for all rateable land:-
    • A general rate of 0.00237662 cents for each dollar of Capital Improved Value.
    • A commercial rate of 0.00320844 cents for each dollar of Capital Improved Value.
    • A special rate (cultural and recreational) of 0.00059416 cents for each dollar of Capital Improved Value.
    • A second garbage bin on a property incurs a charge of $180.

Payment of rates will be on an instalment only basis.
The instalment dates are 30 September 2012, 30 November 2012, 28 February 2013 and 31 May 2013.

Copies of the Budget are available for inspection at the Municipal Offices, 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff between 9.00am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. It is also available for download.

Public submissions have now closed. Council will hold a public meeting to hear any submissions on the Budget on Monday 21 May 2012 at 8.00pm. Please note the change in time from the 6.15pm originally scheduled.

Council will meet for the adoption of the final Budget on Wednesday 20 June 2012 at 7.00pm

 

Council Plan 2010 - 2013

Notice is hereby given that, at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on Wednesday 21 March 2012, the Council of the Borough of Queenscliffe resolved to call for public submissions on the draft Council Plan 2010-2013 by no later than 4.00pm Friday 4 May 2012.

Copies of the Council Plan are available for inspection at the Municipal Offices, 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff between 9.00am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. It is also available for download.

Public submissions have now closed. Council will hold a public meeting to hear any submissions on the Budget on Monday 21 May 2012 at 8.00pm. Please note the change in time from the 6.15pm originally scheduled.
