Design Services Tender awarded
Following a rigorous evaluation process Council has awarded Contract 2017/11 – Consultancy Design Services for the Destination Queenscliff Project to Hassell Ltd.
Hassell is a renowned and respected firm that has completed significant design works for both public and private sector projects. Hassell demonstrated it has the relevant experience and resources to deliver the Destination Queenscliff Project objectives.
Hassell was appointed following a two stage procurement process. The design procurement process commenced with an Expressions of Interest (EOI) and eleven (11) EOI responses were received. Through the assessment carried out by the tender evaluation panel, four (4) companies were shortlisted to participate in the Request for Tender (RFT) phase. The procurement process was overseen by an independent probity auditor engaged by Council.
The Destination Queenscliff Project brings together Council tourism master planning for community improvements to the sport and recreation reserve, improvements to caravan park infrastructure at the Queenscliff Recreation Reserve, fort activation and landscape improvements to the lighthouse reserve.
The project consists of but is not limited to the following deliverables:
- A new kiosk/café, public toilets and information centre,
- 10 high quality tourist accommodation eco-cabins located in the nearby recreation reserve,
- Landscaping, paths and ship viewing platforms,
- Upgrade of existing car park,
- Hesse street upgrade,
- Lighting of the historic Fort Queenscliff wall.
