Dogs on beaches restrictions lifted
From 8.00pm on 28 February 2018, summer timeshare restrictions for dogs on beaches in Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff will be lifted until 15 December 2018. This means that dog owners may take their dogs on a lead on all beaches within the Borough of Queenscliffe at any time.
Please note that while dogs are allowed on beaches in the Borough between 1 March and 15 December, they must remain on a lead at all times.
The exception to this rule is the Narrows Beach (also known as Dog Beach), where dogs may be allowed off the lead. Please refer to the Pets and Animals page of Council’s website, www.queenscliffe.vic.gov.au, for location details and further information.
It is the responsibility of dog owners to ensure that their dog does not cause a nuisance to any person or other animal while on or off the lead.
Dog owners and dog walkers are also asked to carry a bag or scoop to clean up after their dog when out walking. Dog bags are supplied free of charge at many locations throughout the Borough but should only be used as a last resort.
Summer timeshare restrictions for dogs on beaches will be reintroduced from Saturday 15 December 2018.
