Final call for Time Capsule items
Mark your place in time by submitting an item in the Borough's 150th Anniversary Time Capsule.
Leave something for future generations to remember you by and to provide them with an understanding of how life was in the Borough of Queenscliffe in 2013.
The Time Capsule is one of the celebrations taking place as part of the Borough of Queenscliffe's 150th Anniversary.
The community is invited to submit items for possible inclusion in the Time Capsule. Suggested items are photographs of several generations of your family, photographs or drawings of the area, poetry or a piece of writing about what Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale means to you, or a special memento such as a coin or badge.
Due to size constraints of the capsule, submissions will only be accepted if they can fit in a DL / business size envelope. All items submitted will be assessed by members of the 150th Organising Committee for potential inclusion. This will ensure a good cross-section of items is included without too much duplication. Items that cannot be accepted will be returned to the owners.
The Time Capsule will be buried at the end of April 2013. It will be unveiled during the 150th Anniversary weekend of Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May 2013, along with a detailed outline of all the items inside the capsule. It is anticipated that the Time Capsule will be reopened in 50 years time, at the celebrations for the Borough of Queenscliffe's 200th Anniversary.
To submit an item for potential inclusion in the 150th Time Capsule, please send or deliver the item to Council Offices with your completed submission form by 4pm Friday 5 April 2013.
