Is your organisation celebrating the Borough’s 150th anniversary?

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

Plans are well underway for the official Borough of Queenscliffe 150th anniversary weekend celebrations on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May. This will involve a range of events and activities that the community can be involved with, including the 150th Art Awards and Exhibition and a community concert.

Is there anything specific your community group or organisation is doing to celebrate the 150th anniversary? Local organisations are being encouraged to celebrate their place within the Borough's 150 years through special activities such as celebratory functions, reunions or documenting their own history.

The Queenscliffe Maritime Museum is planning a photography exhibition and the Queenscliff Bowling Club is hosting a special Anniversary Triples event in May.

According to Rod Wayth, manager of the Queenscliff Bowling Club, the alignment with the 150th anniversary will add extra appeal.

"This event is a great opportunity to celebrate the 150th anniversary and add another incentive for players and spectators to be involved," he says.

To assist in promoting all 150th events and activities, Council is keen to capture them in the official anniversary program and for the 150th anniversary logo to be used on material promoting the activities.

For inclusion in the official 150th anniversary program, activities need to be registered with Council by Friday 15 March. The registration form is available on Council's website:
