The Queenscliffe Visitor Information Centre (VIC) has won the Victorian Regional Achievement and Community Awards 2017 Ricoh Australia Customer Service Award.

The award, a set of television airtime promotional placements on PRIME7, was presented at a Gala Presentation Ceremony at Flemington Racecourse on Friday 13 October.

“The VIC team has developed partnerships with other local tourism operators to ensure resources for visitors are relevant, up to date and easy to use,” said Borough of Queenscliffe Mayor, Councillor Tony Francis.

“This award is a terrific and well-deserved acknowledgement of their commitment to service excellence.”

VIC Coordinator, Maree Greenwood, was quick to acknowledge her team.

“The volunteers are custodians of our rich historical and cultural heritage and delight in assisting visitors to plan their stay and itinerary,” said Ms Greenwood.

“We strive for excellence in all areas of the business and our volunteers generously offer their time to promote the many and varied attractions and experiences on offer in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale.”

The VIC’s outstanding level of customer service set the organisation apart in a strong field of high achieving nominees. VIC volunteers Judy Compton, Jackie Taylor and Karen Watt attended the Gala Presentation with Ms Greenwood.

“It was exciting to be among the finalists for these prestigious awards. This acknowledgement is a wonderful accolade,” said Ms Compton.

“We were proud and honored to receive the Ricoh Australia Customer Service Award. To be recognised for this particular award is exciting and inspirational,” said Ms Watt.

“It really was a privilege to be one of more than 400 enthusiastic, talented regional Victorians attending the gala presentation dinner,” said Ms Taylor.

The Ricoh Customer Service Award is sponsored by Ricoh Australia, PRIME7, The Weekly Times and Bank of Melbourne. In addition to the promotional television placements provided by the award, the Victorian Regional Achievement and Community Awards will produce television commercials acknowledging award winners.
