Updated Council policy supports local businesses

Tuesday, 06 June 2017

Council has updated its Procurement Policy to place greater emphasis on purchasing goods and services from local providers, where possible, to generate business and support providers in the Borough community.

‘Local providers that can match price, quality and availability will be given preference to providers based outside the Borough’, said Borough of Queenscliffe Mayor, Councillor Tony Francis.

The updates to the Procurement Policy demonstrate Council’s commitment to support the local economy.

Council’s Procurement Policy complies with the requirements of the Local Government Act 1989.
