Winter Arts Festival heading for 2018

Monday, 22 May 2017

Council is very grateful for the level of interest from our local community in relation to the development of a Winter Arts Festival.

In consultation with event planners, professional artistic directors and the Tourism and Economic Development Advisory Committee (TEDAC), Council is pursuing the Winter Arts Festival as a major event, requiring additional planning, preparation, promotion and execution.

‘After careful consideration, Council has decided to direct our focus towards a Winter Arts Festival for 2018,’ said Borough of Queenscliffe Mayor, Councillor Tony Francis.

The capacity to attract artistic elements, generate sponsorship interest, and promote local businesses, tourism stakeholders and community inclusion, will all benefit from the extended event planning period.

‘Staging the first Winter Arts Festival in 2018 is the best way to make sure the Festival is a significant and sustainable event that provides ongoing benefits to our businesses and the wider community,’ said Cr Francis.

Further information and updates on the Winter Arts Festival will be posted on Council’s website,
