Stay-at-home mum Sarah Baran has found the perfect place for stress-free family living. The family left Geelong in search of a healthy outdoor lifestyle - and that's exactly what they've found in Queenscliff.
"We always loved Queenscliff... we would come down here and eat our fish and chips at the beach while looking out to the Heads," says Sarah.
Husband Brendan is also a keen fisherman so moving to Queenscliff was a logical choice. The family bought a run-down historic house right in the heart of town and spent two years extensively renovating and extending it to create a functional and beautiful home.
Brendan, a shift-worker, travels to Geelong for work and spends his free time indulging his love of fishing. Sarah walks three-year-old Jamie up the road to the local kinder while one-year-old Max loves hanging out at the local playgrounds.
"Queenscliff has everything that a seaside village could offer in terms of fishing, boating and surfing. You can walk to the tennis courts, the harbour and the parks.
"Just before tea time, when it's the witching hour, I'll often say 'come on, lets go feed the ducks', and we go for a walk outside."
Sarah also makes good use of the ferry service to visit family across the bay, cutting down on hours of driving time through Melbourne.
"Queenscliff has literally everything on your doorstep," she says.
