Salt Contemporary Art Gallery in the heart of Queenscliff, Victoria, hosts the latest works by Robert Freeman, A modern day natural history illustrative artist and champion of (endangered) Australian birds. Robert Freeman's artistry is both a creative outlet and an opportunity to advocate for our natural world via his detailed black and white pencil drawings of birds of prey, water birds and magpies that highlight the textures, patterns, personalities, vulnerabilities and behaviours of the birds he studies. His most recent drawings of the endangered Wedge-tailed eagles, featured in his exhibition are a timely reminder of the dangers they face in the wild from both man and the natural environment.
