“This exhibition reflects an ongoing interest in (and love of) exploring and working with different media, building texture, mixing colour and creating images which I hope will appeal to the viewer on various levels. My most recent work includes a series of encaustic wax paintings inspired by a period of time spent at Apollo Bay, Victoria last winter. Moving through the landscape and experiencing the environment around us (from jetties, boats and lighthouses to beaches, bushland and rainforests) is something many of us love to do to as a way of reconnecting with ourselves and nature.” Carolyn Davis was born in Geelong and has lived in several locations around Australia, now residing on the Bellarine Peninsula. She studied art in Ballarat, majoring in Drawing and Ceramics and holds a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art (Visual Art). Carolyn hopes you enjoy your travel around her exhibition of paintings and works on paper.
