Cost: Varied

The week kicks off on Saturday 14th with a session on the Music of the Borough, from the Military bands and local bands through to the Queenscliff Music Festival. On Sunday 15th the story of Alfred Deakin, "The Man Who Dreamed Australia" is told in a musical biography as Colin Mockett and Shirley Power use their trademark format of images, narration and songs to bring this story to life. This session is repeated on Sunday 22nd. Also on Sunday 15th, the Hon. Ted Baillieu launches the museum's 50th anniversary book "Celebrating History - Items from the Queenscliffe Historical Museum Collection". At the museum old films and newsreels run continuously during the week and on Tuesday and Thursday there is a guided tour of the museum. On Saturday 21st the second session of our History at the Heads program looks at the early Customs service, the guns of Port Phillip and the much loved Point Lonsdale foghorn. There is also a cemetery walk in the morning.
