| Council conducts one hard waste collection a year, usually in the month of March/April.
The date for the next hard waste collection in 2009/10 is yet to be confirmed.
Hard waste is material not reasonably capable of being contained within the normal bin, which does not exceed 32kg in weight or 1.2 metres in length and 0.6 metres in width.
All small items being disposed of should be contained.
Metal items are to be separated from other hard waste.
All material should be placed within 2 metres (6 Feet) of the road surface in a clear, accessible location.
The following materials will be collected:
Metal Waste - * Scrap metal * White good and household appliances (remove fridge doors) * Small car parts, lawn mowers and tools * Hot water system, baths * All waste metal including this and scrap iron
Hard Waste - * Household furniture and china * Timber, no longer than 1.2m in length * Mirrors/windows must be securely wrapped in cardboard with the wording "Glass" clearly marked
The following materials will NOT be collected:
* No tree prunings or branches * No household garbage * NO MATTRESSES &/OR BASES (Residents can take their mattresses to the Drysdale Tip for appox. $10.00) * No vehicle tyres, automotive batteries, waste oils * No chemicals including paints, industrial or liquid wastes asbestos, or chemical containers. * No pharmaceutical, pathological wastes or poisons * No Waste from industrial and commercial premises * No Waste resulting from erection, renovation or demolition of buildings (including fences, bricks, concrete, rubble or excavation material)
