Council recognizes that the individual and community wellbeing of all those who live in and visit the Borough of Queenscliffe is enhanced by the community services delivered and supported by Council (Community Needs Study 2004).

Council takes pride in the fact that it delivers community services within a culture of community involvement and values the many services provided by community groups.

Lonsdale Golf Club, at the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, is an 18 hole grass greens, sandbelt course suitable for play in all weather conditions. The fairways are gently undulating with each secluded from its neighbour by an abundance of ti-tree. The native bird life, which is feature of the course, flourishes around the immediate proximity of Lake Victoria, which is within the playing area

Vehicular access to the Club is across Commonwealth Department of Defence land, that is restricted to the general public.
