Small Works from a Big Country

Small Works from a Big Country
‘Small Works from a Big Country’ is an exhibition of paintings from Indigenous art centres across Australia’s central and western deserts. It features selected works by renowned Aboriginal artists, whose work draws on their strong and continuing connection to their Country. These artists grew up on Country and their artworks reflect the deep knowledge handed down to them for generations. Their stories are an integral part of the artworks they paint, breathing life and meaning into these multi-layered, contemporary works. Marg Bowman Art is delighted to present this exhibition of works from some of Australia's most admired Indigenous art centres. The vital role these art centres play in supporting Aboriginal artists across Australia to create works of artistic excellence is not only of key benefit to the artists themselves, but also their families and their communities. Marg Bowman draws on 20 years’ experience working with Aboriginal artists and writers in Central Australia to engage and inspire both new buyers and those with a more experienced eye in the appreciation and value of authentic, ethically sourced smaller-scale works of fine quality.
