About the project

The Point Lonsdale Tennis Club (PLTC) received funding from the Victorian Government in October 2018 to improve the facilities at the club. The $250,000 grant provided by the State was in addition to funding from the Point Lonsdale Tennis Club ($53,177), Tennis Australia ($46,000) and the Borough of Queenscliffe ($30,000).

Upgrade program inclusions

The project's major cornerstones included the extension and refurbishment of the PLTC's ageing clubrooms (thereby improving disability access to buildings and facilities), and the upgrade of two Plexipave courts to sand-filled artificial grass. The court upgrade was completed in March 2020, with the addition of LED lights and implementation of an electronic 'book a court' system arriving not long after. Construction at the PLTC clubrooms was completed in June 2021.
