The Borough of Queenscliffe is seeking input from residents and visitors as it undertakes a review into the operation of its tourist parks.

Following the adoption of a design master plan for the parks, Council is now completing a review of the parks’ operation and management. The review will focus on identifying strategies that make the parks more attractive to visitors and increase their financial sustainability over the long-term.

Mayor Ross Ebbels said the tourist parks were an important asset for the Borough. “Council’s tourist parks provide affordable accommodation for visitors, generate income that helps us keep rates low, and attract new customers to support local businesses,” Cr Ebbels said. “This review will help us make sure the parks can keep providing benefits to the Borough for generations. I’d encourage anyone with ideas to share them as part of this consultation.”

Anyone can take part in consultation by completing a survey on Council’s website at queenscliffe.vic.gov.au/tourist-park-consultation. Participants will be asked how they currently use Council’s tourist parks, what they like best about them, and what they think could be improved about the way the parks are operated and managed. Consultation closes at 11:59pm on Sunday 15 August. Dedicated workshop sessions will also take place with stakeholder groups, including 12-month permit holders and local traders.

More information about the review, including a project timeline and background, is available on Council’s website or by contacting customer service.
