Volunteers needed for Clean-Up Australia Day
This year’s Clean-Up Australia Day is gearing up to be bigger and better than ever with three locations in Queenscliff registered for Clean-Up Australia Day on Sunday, March 1.
Locals are encouraged to join members of the Swan Bay Environment Group, an Alliance partner, to clean up our local beaches and bushland from 9am to 12pm on the day.
Clean-up sites and meeting points are as follows;
Clean-up Site 1: Along Murray Road Queenscliff & McDonald Road Queenscliff (focusing on the walking track and the fishing spots at the end of the track).
Meeting Point 1: Queenscliff Indigenous Nursery, 79 Nelson Road, Queenscliff.
Clean-up Site 2: Queenscliff Front Beach (from the ferry terminal to the Pilots’ Station).
Meeting Point 2: Council office, 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff.
Visit http://www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au/ and select the site you wish to help clean up and then register your details.
On Sunday, March 1, volunteers must meet up with the Site Supervisor at the nominated meeting point and complete the Volunteer Registration Form.
Rubbish and waste collection bags will be provided, plus gloves. However, it’s a good idea to bring along your own pair of sturdy gloves. We recommend you also wear closed shoes and long pants.
