Application to Register a Swimming Pool or Spa
Regulation 147P(1), Building Regulations 2018
The Victorian Government has recently introduced legislation to make the registration of swimming pools and spas mandatory. From 1 December 2019, all swimming pools and spas will need to be registered with Council. The cut-off date for registration is 1 June 2020.
After completing the form below, Council will cross-check with existing records to determine the exact date that your swimming pool or spa was constructed, and we will then contact you with the date that your certificate of compliance will need to be submitted to Council by.
Council is unable to offer a compliance service, so you will need to hire a Victorian registered building inspector or pool safety inspector to provide an inspection of your pool or spa. Following the inspection, the inspector will either submit a certificate of compliance or non-compliance to Council, based on whether your barriers meet the legal safety requirements.
For more information on the process, please visit the Victorian Government's Victorian Building Authority website.
Please note: this form requires a fee of $79.10. This fee includes a pool or spa registration fee and an information search fee. This fee must be paid by credit card over the phone after the application has been submitted, or by visiting Council offices in person. Additional fees may apply in particular circumstances. Cash and cheque payments can be made in person by visiting the Borough of Queenscliffe, 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff.
