2020 Council elections

Voting in the upcoming Council election
This year's elections will be conducted entirely via post. Voting enrolments for this year's upcoming Council election closed on 28 August 2020. Nominations for candidacy opened on 17 September 2020 and closed on 22 September 2020.
Voting is compulsory if you are automatically enrolled on the Victorian State electoral roll. The VEC will post ballot packs to enrolled voters between Tuesday 6 October and Thursday 8 October 2020.
The ballot pack will contain:
- a ballot paper attached to statements and photographs lodged by the candidates in your council or ward
- a ballot paper envelope with a flap
- voting instructions
- a reply-paid envelope.
Follow the instructions on the ballot pack and make sure your completed vote is mailed before 6:00pm on Friday 23 October 2020.
Thursday 17 September 2020: Nominations open
Tuesday 22 September 2020: Nominations close at 12:00pm noon
Wednesday 23 September 2020: Lodgement of candidate statements, photos and questionnaires closes at 12:00pm noon
Friday 23 October 2020: Your completed vote must be posted before 6:00pm
Friday 13 November 2020: Results will be declared by this date.
