The following forms and guidelines relate to various planning and construction applications, as well as activies that may require a Local Law permit. A generic Local Law permit application is required for conducting any of, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Using a crane, hoist or movable platform, etc. on public land
- Erecting a booth, stall or scaffolding on public land
- Lighting a fire in the open.
Business and trading |
Apply to place goods for display on footpath

Apply to consume alcohol on public land
A generic Local Law permit application is required for conducting any of, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Itinerant trading (mobile or temporary business)
- Selling or hiring, or offering for sale or hire, goods or service
- Selling raffle or lottery tickets
- Street appeals
- Singing, playing a musical instrument, delivering a public address, or using sound-amplifying equipment on public land
- Holding a garage sale.
Vehicles and transport |
Apply for a disabled parking permit
Apply to land a helicopter (form available upon request)
A generic Local Law permit application is required for conducting any of, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Removing paint from, painting, or repairing a vehicle or boat
- Flying an engine-powered model airplane
- Camping or keeping a caravan
- Conducting a road activity, including cycle races.
Animals |
A generic Local Law permit application is required for conducting any of, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Keeping more animals or birds than prescribed by Council
- Keeping an animal or bird not listed by Council
- Bringing a horse or donkey onto public land.
