Kiosk Lease Update

The time has come to say goodbye to the much-loved Ocean View Kiosk team after more than 18 years of service to our community. Council appreciates the commitment and goodwill Darren, Jude and the team have extended to both our community and its many visitors.

The Mandated Government EOI Process:
The existing kiosk has reached the end of its life, and as such the site will undergo a refresh, including the installation of a new shipping container-style kiosk. The kiosk is located on Crown land; Council is required to follow State Government Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) policy and run an Expression of Interest (EOI) process when a lease becomes available.

This ensures the process is fair, transparent, and accessible to all interested applicants and once the process is completed, the lease then needs to be endorsed by DEECA confirming Council is following the legislated process. The current lease will conclude on 30 June.

We know Darren and Jude have become a valued part of the community, generously supporting many local groups and organisations over the years. We sincerely thank them for their dedication, friendship, and contribution to the Borough, and on behalf of the entire Borough of Queenscliffe, we offer a heartfelt thank you.
