Below is a statement from the Mayor, Cr Di Rule.
"The Borough of Queencliffe Councillors and current CEO Martin Gill have agreed terms for the early finalisation of the CEO's present employment contract. Under those terms, Mr Gill is to cease in his present role on 28 November 2025.
Mr Gill commenced in the role in October 2019 and has made a significant contribution to the Council and the Queenscliffe community over the past 6 years.
On behalf of all the Councillors and the community of Queencliffe I thank Mr Gill for his efforts and wish him and his family all the best for the future.
Council have also resolved to appoint an experienced and highly regarded recruitment agency, McArthur, to assist Council in identifying a suitable permanent CEO to replace Mr Gill. We are assured by McArthur that this is a coveted role and will attract many highly skilled suitable candidates. I am excited by the opportunity to bring fresh energy and ideas to the management and culture of our Council.
Meanwhile Council is likely to appoint an Interim CEO to perform the role until a permanent CEO is identified and appointed. An announcement in this regard will follow shortly."
