Council's recent waste collections weren't a wasted opportunity - thank you to all the community members who participated in the hard rubbish collection day, and the e-waste drop off.
An incredible 6.8 tonnes of e-waste was collected on Saturday the 17th of May. 97.7% of materials dropped off will be able to be recycled into new parts, meaning that most of the waste dropped off was able to be diverted from landfill. Over 440 cars came through the e-waste drop off point, nearly double the amount of participants last year. Thank you to all who participated.
In addition to our e-waste drop off, we also held our hard rubbish collection. Over 1000 piles of hard waste were presented and collected - in one day - with more than 100 tonnes of material safely removed from homes.
Thank you to everyone who helped dispose of their rubbish responsibly. Your efforts keep our Borough neat and tidy.
