In a world where the ordinary often goes unnoticed, Marie-Helene Clauzon creates photographs that breathe life into humble vegetables turning leeks into dancers, capsicum into knights and broad beans into lovers.
Her images blend a poetic eye with childlike wonder, inviting viewers to rediscover the quiet magic hidden in everyday nature.
Marie Hélène Clauzon is a French Australian artist based in Sydney. She studied art in London, photography in Sydney and spent 25 years styling food stories for major Australian publications. She was also a successful ceramicist whose work regularly appeared in leading design magazines.
Clauzon’s work sits somewhere between photography, watercolour, storytelling and food styling, challenging traditional ideas of what food imagery can be. Her visual approach recently drew national attention, with her “dancing leeks” featured on the cover of the Sydney Morning Herald Good Weekend.
