The Borough of Queenscliffe gives notice that it has placed CP054 Victoria Park on public exhibition for a period of four weeks.
This policy has been updated to provide flexibility for the business so that it can better serve its customers and generate additional income.
With the revegetation areas now protected and established, other areas in Victoria Park can be used sporadically and on a controlled basis, with negligible impact on the environmental values of the park.
Removing the restricted camping area, and opening Victoria Park from September is hoped to increase occupancy and allow more visitors to stay within the parks, increasing visitation to the Borough. September, October and November are great times for people to camp in Queenscliff. Promisingly, the use of Victoria Park from May through to August will be minimal, and these changes will ensure we don’t have to turn campers away on game day.
Council acknowledges that if for some reason camping negatively impacts vegetation growth, canopy enhancement, or habitat regeneration, restrictions could be implemented. This would be based on assessments by the Vegetation and Foreshore Officer, or an arborist.
