The Draft Budget was created with community input that occurred at the start of the budgeting process, incorporating many of the key themes that were important to the Borough. At the April Ordinary Meeting of Council, the 2026-2027 Draft Budget was placed on exhibition until Monday 18 May.
Council’s Draft Budget sets out how we plan to fund the delivery of key services, property maintenance and infrastructure projects in line with the Council Plan 2025-2029 whilst balancing projects that will underpin our long-term sustainability. In the year ahead Council will undertake a Service Review to fully understand and evaluate all of the services that are being delivered.
Our community should be confident that the Borough of Queenscliffe is in a well-managed financial position and importantly the budget is financially balanced, meaning the day-to-day costs are covered also, and the Council is strategically scanning the horizon to identify other sources of income. Council continues to operate with no debt and keeps reserves to help manage unexpected cost pressures in a changing economic environment.
