The Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC) for the Borough of Queenscliffe is seeking expressions of interest from community members who would like to join the committee.

Every Victorian municipality has a MEMPC which is made up of representatives from government and non-government emergency response and recovery agencies and local commercial industry and business representatives.

The MEMPC plans for a range of emergencies that may occur within the municipality and is responsible for the preparation of the Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP).

The MEMPC is seeking to appoint two (2) representatives, who can effectively represent our community, including local businesses, for a term of two (2) years. The positions are voluntary, and you must be available to attend at least four meetings annually.

Expressions of interest will be assessed by a panel of MEMPC representatives against the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement;
  • Knowledge of broader emergency management issues in the Borough of Queenscliffe;
  • Access to networks and other stakeholder groups within the community; and,
  • Experience working on community-based committees.

To make an application please submit a letter, no more than two pages in length, that explains how you meet the criteria listed above.  The letter can be emailed to info@queenscliffe.vic.gov.au, marked to the attention of Dinah O’Brien - Municipal Emergency Management Officer (MEMO), or mailed to:

Dinah O’Brien
Municipal Emergency Management Officer

PO Box 93
